Game Setup

- Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival

- Xbox Series S @ 120fps

- 2x TaikoForce Drums

- 2x TDC17 Drums

- Headphones needed & provided

 

Directions

The taiko table will be in Jebaily Land (Arcade)!  Look for the taiko banners and happi coats! 👘

- Saturday, day of the tournament, please arrive 10 minutes before 1pm so we can do a proper head count, and do any needed adjustments. Check in with any judge.

- Bring your own headphone for the best experience! We’ll have 3.5 Aux to plug into!

- If you are knocked out of the tournament, make sure to stick around to receive a prize.


Schedule

Friday, 13th

1p - 7p, Qualifiers & Free Play

- TO’s will keep in touch with all players that made it to the top 32 to meet again tomorrow.


Saturday, 14th

1p, Tournament begins

2:30p, Top 4 begins, depending on the smoothness of the bracket.

3:00p, Grand Finals begin, depending on the smoothness of the bracket.

- Once the tournament finishes, prizes are given out and the taiko table will slowly close off for the night.


Sunday, 15th

No activity, TBD

 

Qualifiers

Approach any judge at the Taiko table (we’ll be wearing happi coats 👘) and let us know you’d like to enter to qualify for the tournament! 

- The qualifier song will only be revealed to you once you’ve met with a judge.

- 7☆ Oni will be the difficulty of the qualifier song, and you’ll have your score written down once the song ends, no re-do’s.

- You’ll be seeded and contacted if you make it to the top 32 players. We’ll keep in touch via Discord or Start.GG.

Q. I want to qualify but can’t go on Friday, can I still join?

A. Please reach out to Jaymin, Kevin, or MechaGai via Discord/Social Media for an accommodation. We may have you play the song at home, or have you come in early on Saturday so we can seed you.

 

Format & Rules

Tournament Format

Single Elimination + 3rd place consolation match

 

Seeding Format

Top seed against lowest seed - Example: 1 vs 32

 

Drum first pick

Top seed or player agreement


Scoring

External scoring system (EX Score)

1 Good = 2 Points

1 OK = 1 Point

BAD = 0 Point

Points will be cumulative per match to determine the winner.


Tiebreakers

- Highest drumroll count will be used in case of a point tiebreaker.

- In the event of even drumrolls, an additional song will be played until a winner can be determined.


Modifiers

No Modifiers, or speed mods.


Errors & Recalculations

If a drum error occurs, it must be a full disconnection or repeated issue within a song.

One miss input will not grant a re-play.

 

Bachi breaks

If a drumstick breaks, the song will be paused and restarted, once a judge accesses the situation.

A purposeful break will be noticed and the player will be automatically disqualified.

 

Additional Rules

- Matches are played in “Co-Op” mode.

- Each round uses a new song list and increases in difficulty, see below!

- DO NOT skip song results. Allow judges to record stats.

- Matches will be recorded/livestreamed. Players will be asked in advance if they are okay with being on camera. Accommodations can be made for those that do not want to appear on camera.

- If a player’s match is starting and a judge is unable to locate them within 10 minutes, then they may be subject to an automatic match loss.

- Judges reserve the right to immediately disqualify any player who…

exhibits toxic or unsportsmanlike conduct, verbally or physically harasses others, interferes with an ongoing match, or damages tournament or venue property either intentionally or as a result of blatantly neglecting the tournament guidelines.

Such a disqualification will be immediately reported to Project Storm and/or CEO staff. As a result, the player may be subject to removal from the CEO event venue.

 

Tournament Rounds

Round 1 - Top 32

Two songs cumulative (Bo2)

Once in a match,

Four 7☆ songs will be randomly generated and shown to you.


Top seed gets first BAN pick on one of the four songs. 

Low seed picks the second BAN.


Two total songs now remain, both of which will be played fully.

- Song order is based on Top seed choice or player agreement.


Player’s points will be added up as per the External scoring system to determine who advances.


Round 2 - Top 16

Two songs cumulative (Bo2)

Four 7☆ songs will be randomly generated and shown to you.

Same format follows as Round 1- Top 32, written above.


Round 3 - Top 8

Two songs cumulative (Bo2)

Four 8☆ songs will be randomly generated and shown to you.

Same format follows as Round 1 - Top 32, written above.


Round 4 - Top 4

Three songs cumulative (Bo3)

Once in a match,

Five 9☆ songs will be randomly generated and shown to you.


Top seed gets first BAN pick on one of the five songs. 

Low seed picks the second BAN.


Three total songs now remain, all of which will be played fully.

- Song order is based on Top seed choice or player agreement.


Player’s points will be added up as per the External scoring system to determine who advances.


3rd Place Consolation Match

Three songs cumulative (Bo3)

To finalize a proper 4th place and 3rd place, the two losers from Top 4 will play against each other.


Five 9☆ songs will be randomly generated and shown to you.

Same format follows as Round 4 - Top 4, written above.


Grand Finals

Three songs cumulative (Bo3)

Mixup!

You will be required to play 3 total songs; 1 randomly generated and 1 song of choice for each player.


Three 9☆ songs will be randomly generated and shown to you.


Top seed gets first BAN pick on one of the three songs. 

Low seed picks the second BAN.


Each player will then pick ONE ADDITIONAL song of their choice.

Any genre, any difficulty, the whole game is available to use.


Three total songs remain, all of which will be played fully.

- Song order is based on Top seed choice or player agreement.


Player’s points will be added up as per the External scoring system to determine the winner.
